Continuing through the final area to the north of Tunnel 4. This is the north east corner of the site.

These areas were part of the RAF Stores during WWII. In the 1960's they were incorporated into the RSG. From the 1980's they were unused.
There is no evidence of the RAF Stores now, so what we see are the remains of the RSG.
It is easier to understand this area by following the plans on pages 20-21 of Drakelow Unearthed - Revised Edition (Pages 16-17 of the original version).

RETURN TO TUNNEL 4

71 north
Having returned to Tunnel 4 turn east and proceed to the end of Tunnel 4 and the final gallery on the left.
This was also part of the RAF Stores during WW2 and was later one of the Male Dormitories of the R.S.G.
tank
Turning right at the next junction brings you to the eastern limit of 'Second Avenue' and the end of a 59,000 gallon water tank, constructed by blocking in the eastern most bay.

Still next to the tank (on your right) turn to look west along 'Second Avenue' crossing the Male Dormitory towards the BBC area you saw earlier and towards the areas occupied by the 1980's R.G.H.Q.

If you were to continue west along 'Second Avenue' past the junction with the Male Dormitory we would walk past the entrance to the toilets we saw on the previous page.

second avenue
Continuing past the toilets, Second Avenue continues toward the RGHQ areas. The 1960's BBC studios are off to the right. Straight ahead is where the phonogram booths (photo in the gallery pages of this website) were and beyond those is the brick wall separating off the RGHQ.

84 east
We have now turned around and are heading east, back towards the Male Dormitory and water tank.
86 north
Arriving back at the Male Dormitory turn left (North). This section was either Male Dormitory or part of the 'Reserve Stores Area'
86 north
Continuing north to the end of this bay we are looking towards 'First Avenue'.
86 south
Having arrived at the end of this bay, where it meets first Avenue we turn around to look south, all the way back towards Tunnel 4.
